8" ATI converter for sale. The converter came in an 8-second True Stock Tube Chassis Barracuda that used to do bumper scraping wheelies down the track. The 2400 pound transbrake car would go on 30 mile "True Street" trips then line up at the track for three back to back to back runs without opening the hood. They'd put C23 fuel in and turn on the bottle.
When I bought the car in 2007, the Seller claimed that the motor, trans and converter were just freshened. Inspection of the crank bearings and transmission tells me he wasn't lying.
We took the car to the track when I first bought it, but we only made one pass in it before breaking a fiberglass door hinge. When we got it home, we decided to tear down and restore. When finished two years later, our priorities had changed, and I sold the car as a roller. That's the long version of telling you that I know very little of the specifics of just the converter. That said, ATI stamps the number on the hub. They can tell you more if interested. They'll tell you they haven't seen the converter in years, but remember it made one pass in 2007 and been on the shelf.
